3 Days in the St Pierre sur Dives region, making your own soap
Arriving in St Pierre sur Dives you’ll be within easy reach of the Plains of Caen in the west and the gateway to the south of Pays d’Auge in the east.
A destination unlike any other. You’ll soon discover that mother nature has some hidden treasures.
Look towards Grisy and you’ll see hillside vineyards appear, glance over to Jort and saffron-covered fields will colour the landscape.
Day 1
Very nearby you will find a welcome at Vaudelorges.
You can arrive from 5 pm. You can enjoy an evening meal, should you so wish.
Remember to ask for this option at the time of booking.
Day 2
After a good, quiet night’s sleep, wake up in the morning and enjoy a hearty homemade breakfast.
You’ll undertake in the main activity – learning to make your own soap.
Day 3
After leaving your accommodation, you have a wide choice of things to do in the area:
– Go towards St Pierre sur Dives with its indoor markets,
– Going to Livarot to visit cheesemaker, Graindorge,
Or simply ask Pierre and Chantal, they will recommend a hike for you.
Activity on site :
On Day 2 you should be ready bright and early to get up and get on your bike! Pierre will be delighted to show you the way to your morning’s activity.
Orely’s soap factory in Vaudelorges
You will be expected at 14 o’clock. Aurélie will have prepared everything ready for your Discovery Workshop.
You’ll learn to make your own soap following a recipe that you may personalise if you want.

*Presentation of the raw materials and equipment
*Practical work
The equipment you need to bring:
*Long sleeved clothing
*A pair of Mappa gloves
*An apron
*An empty 1-litre juice/milk carton – Tetrapack
Aurélie will provide you with protective glasses and more importantly some snacks!
Note that this activity is open to young people from 14 years of age
You’ll be able to take your soap with you at the end of your morning’s activity and of course, there’s nothing to stop you choosing others in Orely’s soap factory boutique!
